Common Law Admission Test (CLAT): eligibility, calendar and the Bangalore colleges that admit through it

CLAT is the national entrance for the five-year integrated LL.B and the LL.M at the National Law Universities. In Bangalore, whose NLU is the National Law School of India University, private law colleges also accept CLAT scores, LSAT-India scores or their own tests for BA LL.B and BBA LL.B admissions, alongside the three-year LL.B after graduation.
The UG paper tests English, current affairs, legal reasoning, logical reasoning and quantitative techniques through passages. Since the 2024 cycle the exam has been held in December for the following academic year.
Eligibility
For the five-year programmes: 10+2 with at least 45% (40% for SC/ST). For LL.M: an LL.B with 50% (45% for SC/ST). The Bar Council of India sets no upper age limit for law admissions.

CLAT: common questions
Do Bangalore private law colleges require CLAT?
Most accept CLAT or LSAT-India but also run their own admission tests or admit on 10+2 merit for management-quota seats. Karnataka State Law University affiliates follow the university's admission rules; confirm the route with each college.
